Anthem Strong Families had a hugely successful, SOLD-OUT event for the last 9 years. At last year’s event there was food, dancing, laughter and some tears as over 300 attendees from all over the Dallas area came to honor some very special couples. After it was all over, we decided to ask some of them what they thought of Dallas Black Marriage Day.
Dallas Black Marriage Day began with the passion to spread a positive message of marriage in the African American community. This special day is held in honor of National Black Marriage Day and was recognized in just 30 cities when it began in 2003, and it has now spread to more than 300 communities across the country!
Each year outstanding couples are nominated by family and friends. The winners are awarded with the title of “Dallas Couple of the Year” and inducted into the Dallas Black Marriage Day Hall of Fame at a gala affair.
